 Tips When Buying a  Home

If you are buying your first home, for your own protection, use a Realtor to help you.

The home owner pays my commission when I help you to buy your home.

The Seller's agent represents the interest of the Seller and not you!
If you have looked on the MLS and found a home you are interested in, please call me directly at 226-919-8880 and I will take you to see the house. I work for you!

I want you to find the best possible house WITHIN your budget and I work hard to prevent unpleasant surprises or expenses during the buying process and after you've moved in.

Buyer Tips

1.  A Banks pre-approval does not guarantee that the lender will give you a mortgage.

2. If you over-pay for a home, the bank may not agree to give you all the money you need for your mortgage. It is my job to determine market value for the home you have your eye on and I will, in no uncertain terms, let you know if you are thinking of overpaying.

3. Figure out your finances conservatively. You do not want to be mortgage poor. Having your home is fabulous but not if you are paying so much for your mortgage that you can't have a life.

4. It is important to have a house inspected before you are locked into purchasing it. I don't want you unpleasantly surprised after you have moved in.

5. I will include a clause in the Agreement of Purchase and Sale, allowing for a of visit to the property before the closing day (the day you actually own the house). The last of those visits should be a day or two before closing day to ensure that something has not happened to the house or the fixtures since you last viewed it. If there is a problem, it is always easier on you to have me sort it out before moving day.

6. House hunting is a process. Everyone starts out with expectations that exceed budgets. I am an extremely patient agent. I personally like to go and look at several representative houses before you even think about what you will or will not buy.

7. Please feel free to bring someone you trust with you to look at homes, if this makes you feel comfortable.
